Morningstar's MCIA business unit needed to update their DealView application which manages their CRE and CMBS to a modern technology stack including using their own Morningstar Design System (MDS). As is quite frequent with many clients this also needed to be achieved in record timescales in order to secure funding for the development of their next mayor version upgrade. There was also a requirement to move this away from the Data Center which was being decommissioned in favour of AWS.

When a new Head of Digital & Innovation joined the esure, they sought to bring fresh ideas and innovation to the traditionally risk-averse industry. With limited resources available – only a public API due to an internal team undergoing a six-month freeze – the challenge was to be creative with what was on hand.

To ensure these engineers could hit the ground running from day one, a tailored approach was taken during selection, hiring, and onboarding.

Store No. 8, Walmart's technology incubator, sought to augment its internal engineering team with a group of Full Stack Engineers to focus on two innovative projects: A secure outdoor temperature-controlled IoT Grocery Box & The InHome delivery experience using smart locks that enables delivery associates to dispatch groceries directly to the kitchen fridge.
